Marta's Message

Sustainability with Brilliance and a Splash of Bitters

Clothing Matters is the manifestation of one person’s faith in how people respond to good things, and the diverse community of enthusiastic support that grew around it. For 18 years prior to discovering the extent to which clothing mattered and birthing a business dedicated to sustainably manufactured apparel in 1996, founder and owner Marta Swain enjoyed decades of teaching sustainability concepts and principles, inviting and engaging workshop participants of all ages and backgrounds in regard of nature, through learning experiences that tapped their seemingly unlimited capacity to recognize opportunities for improving the quality of life for self, society, and the natural system of life on earth that supports us all. Swain’s venue for cultivating understanding of sustainability was Interplay, a methodology she created to elicit brilliance and celebrate solution oriented acts connecting the greater good.
